For behavior design, a semester I followed in year 3, school asked me to read and research on the following themes: Ethics, Psychology and Design. With the information I gathered from researching these topics I was asked to put this information onto cards. These cards show the information I gathered. These cards contain the most interesting information I found and I swapped the design part with more information about surveillance capitalism and big data. Since that’s a topic that interests me a lot.
The illustrations on the front of the cards are based on posters from the 40’s mixed with an 80’s color scheme. I’ve always been intrigued by the way posters from the 40's looked and how well the illustrations are done on them. They convey a strong message and are out there. This mixed with the bright colors mostly used in the 80’s makes these cards really stand out and one of my favorite illustrations I’ve made so far.
To reflect on how I as a designer want to put myself in the world I made a zine, a magazine that shows how I want to behave as a designer and what I learned from behavior design.
I mostly found out that as a designer you have a lot of impact on the world around you. How we design for the 2 brain systems and which one is the best to influence as a designer. Through this project I learned that I want to influence the world positivily through design and that I want to help the world become a better place through design.
