In my 2nd year I did an internship with the dean of het Media College Amsterdam (an MBO school best translated to post-secondary vocational education).
The dean asked me to make an online environment for him and students to plan counseling’s and meetings easier.
Now the students have to go through all different types of hierarchies to make an appointment. The dean of the school wanted to make sure the students had an easier and more approachable way to connect the dean. By removing some of the hierarchy the students had to go through it became easier for students to contact the dean.
In this online environment the dean can select the days he’s available, accept or decline appointments, make notes while having an appointment and easily export reports about the appointment.
The students can plan in an appointment, view their previous appointments and view their appointments in a clear and accessible way.
This environment was made by doing research about the dean’s, student’s and other involved people’s needs. Such as student’s counselors, the dean’s assistant and the school in general
To make sure everything was correct and to see if people could use the online environment I made a Lofi. I tested this with multiple students and a teacher.
My way of working is documented in a internship report, or in dutch a stage verslag. You can download this in the link below.
